It all started when…
I was 10 years old and I was obsessed with media. From music videos to movies to television, I always paid close attention to the makeup on screen. From beauty makeup in a Britney Spears music video to prosthetics in a zombie film, I fell in love with the transformation that was achieved with amazing makeup skills.
Cut to high school, I first learned how to do special effects makeup in my theater class. I learned how to create fake wounds and bruises with just my drugstore makeup brands. However after doing some research I learned that many of the beauty brands I was using were tested on animals in an extremely inhumane manner.
Feeling devastated I vowed to never use or condone products that are tested on animals or are sold in China where it is still legally mandated. With my new cruelty-free makeup kit, I continued to practice different makeup styles and decided to go to cosmetology school when I graduated.
I have been doing makeup since then (I am now 30) and I have worked with many people and projects. My first big project was for a Six Flags Fiesta Texas commercial. I did zombie makeup for a new ride they were promoting. I really loved being on set and the feeling of seeing my makeup on screen was something my 10 year old self was very excited and proud to see.
I started my official company Nerdia Cat Makeup and Art LLC in 2018. I do makeup for film, television, fashion, and teach classes! My passion is creating art and making my client’s makeup goals come to life! I pride myself in being very accommodating and someone who knows a lot about makeup and the beauty industry.
So that’s my story and it’s been a crazy and rewarding ride so far. Now I’d love to connect with you. Whether you need my services, advice, or just even friendship, reach out to me! I’m looking forward to hearing your story.
Yours in Makeup + Art,
